Life isn't about your age. Life is about living. Life isn't about your age. Life is about living.

Yesterday I celebrated my 40ths and climbed Diedro Martini - a grand classic trad route of Cima all Coste and couldn't be more thankful about my lovely climbing partner as he surprised me with birthday cards all the way up the 500m multi pitch.

Looking forward to the next decade with plenty of wonderful friends and awesome climbing. 🥰❤️

On the way to #pizroseg from the #schneekuppe Asce On the way to #pizroseg from the #schneekuppe Ascent through the so-called #eselsgrat / #middlemoregrat.

The first ascent of the Schneekuppe was already in August 1863. Two years later a group of three mountaineers reached the highest point of the mountain Piz Roseg: A. W. Moore and Horace Walker with guide Jakob Anderegg.

The way to Piz Roseg is pretty steep but the firn was in good conditions. Unfortunately our roped party of three ran out of time to reach the top of Piz Roseg so we turned around without summiting.

“The summit is what drives us, but the climb its “The summit is what drives us, but the climb itself is what matters.” – Conrad Anker

Europe's highest peak, Mount Elbrus (5642m) is an easy climb but can have very harsh weather conditions. When I climbed Elbrus in August our acclimatisation climb was awfully cold and windy and I thought I am not gonna make it to the peak. But on our summit climb we had the best weather since months: sunny and calm. Downside: an overcrowded peak, bustling and cramped. Climbing Elbrus can be called a tourist trap because of the easy climb and the comfort to get up using cable cars and snow cats. But do not underestimate the altitude. The mountain causes a lot of deaths because it is technically so easy and attracts a lot of inexperienced climbers.

Only a paradise for divers?

Culture, Nature, Philippines, Scuba Diving, Around the World Trip by Rebekka

For a long time I struggled with myself to fly to the Philippines. Too many conflicts in this country deterred me. In the ranking of the Global Terrorism Index 2016 of the Institute for Economic & Peace, the country is ranked 12th. The activities of the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf are partly responsible for this, […]

Egypt, Culture, Scuba Diving, Around the World Trip by Rebekka

A year ago, men attacked several tourists in a hotel in Hurghada with a knife. It was not the hotel I had checked in, but since the incident, the government has increased the security precautions so as not to lose more tourists. “All nonsense of the media in the West. Every little thing is exaggerated […]

My contact lenses felt like ice flakes in my eyes. Blizzardlike wind swept past me with up to 70h/km and made every step in the dark to a tightrope walk on the way to the summit of Teide, the highest mountain in Spain (3717m). It is also the third-highest volcano in the world. I tried […]

The dilapidated Khmer empire Monkeys were springing and spluttering from bough to bough ; and, on a piece of open ground, some peacocks were displaying, in the height of vain-glory; their superb plumage. The forests were of an entirely different character from the American forests. I did not see a single pine, live-oak, sequoia, or […]

Island of the gods

Indonesia, Culture, Nature, Scuba Diving, Around the World Trip by Rebekka

Pulau Dewata Bali is rightly called the “island of the gods” or the 1000 temples. Every second building is a temple or shrine and the Hindu culture permeates the everyday life of the inhabitants. Every morning, the scent of incense flows through the narrow streets and at every door and every shrine are small offerings […]
