Life isn't about your age. Life is about living. Life isn't about your age. Life is about living.

Yesterday I celebrated my 40ths and climbed Diedro Martini - a grand classic trad route of Cima all Coste and couldn't be more thankful about my lovely climbing partner as he surprised me with birthday cards all the way up the 500m multi pitch.

Looking forward to the next decade with plenty of wonderful friends and awesome climbing. 🥰❤️

On the way to #pizroseg from the #schneekuppe Asce On the way to #pizroseg from the #schneekuppe Ascent through the so-called #eselsgrat / #middlemoregrat.

The first ascent of the Schneekuppe was already in August 1863. Two years later a group of three mountaineers reached the highest point of the mountain Piz Roseg: A. W. Moore and Horace Walker with guide Jakob Anderegg.

The way to Piz Roseg is pretty steep but the firn was in good conditions. Unfortunately our roped party of three ran out of time to reach the top of Piz Roseg so we turned around without summiting.

Europe's highest peak, Mount Elbrus (5642m) is an easy climb but can have very harsh weather conditions. When I climbed Elbrus in August our acclimatisation climb was awfully cold and windy and I thought I am not gonna make it to the peak. But on our summit climb we had the best weather since months: sunny and calm. Downside: an overcrowded peak, bustling and cramped. Climbing Elbrus can be called a tourist trap because of the easy climb and the comfort to get up using cable cars and snow cats. But do not underestimate the altitude. The mountain causes a lot of deaths because it is technically so easy and attracts a lot of inexperienced climbers.

MUAY THAI AND TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE

Culture, city, Thailand, Around the World Trip by Rebekka

On the 10th of September we entered Thai soil again. We felt like we had come home. As we crossed Bangkok’s infamous Khaosan Road, I felt like I was in a hidden object. Tuktuk drivers, street vendors, bars and massage studios energetically and loudly vied for the numerous tourists. Music blared from numerous bars and […]

Extensive rice fields and dense jungle raced past me. Actually, I raced past them on a small Honda Click. But sometimes she had to fight too. Then she had to climb foggy mountain passes. She did not like that so much. Apart from that, she was a wonderful companion to my tour with Armando on […]

Place of longing and climbing hotspot Tonsai

Climbing, Nature, Thailand, Around the World Trip by Rebekka

I approached Tonsai Beach on a colorful longtail boat. This was the only way to reach the famous climbing paradise in Thailand. The turquoise blue sea sloshed noisily under the long boat. Only the sound of the boat engine destroyed the idyll as we approached the empty beach. I had heard many tonsai stories: incomparable […]
